Royal Mail Envelopes 2008

This project brief required us to produce an envelope which is friendly to the environment. This could have been interpreted as being able to be recycled easily, have multiple purposes, or reusable.

This design is produced with a food grade plant base plastic which can biodegrade much easier compared to polythene which is used in regular shopping bags.

The sides of the envelopes have pre-cut notches for ease of opening without tools, and can be resealed using hair straighteners on low heat. This ensures a very secure way sealing. The mailing ink stamp can be wiped with a wet cloth, and inner can be washed out for different purposes.

Letter version: roll, insert and seal. Inspired by messages in a bottle. The recycling signs act as a security pattern prevents people from reading the letter without opening.

Bubblewrap version: because there are also things which are delicate. Folded paper address tab insert can be used multiple times.

For you worried mothers out there: when your kid moves out and you need to know he's being feed well.
